Morgan heraldic shields
The shields are made here in Wales. The bodies are made from highly figured, solid Welsh oak or American oak with a more regular grain pattern. The medallions are individually machined from solid antique mahogany and are inlaid to a depth of 3mm. The mahogany is reclaimed from redundant 19th century furniture (this lustrous Honduran mahogany is no longer commercially available in the UK and other countries, as a result of modern measures to protect tropical rain forests). The shields are waxed and polished by hand. They have a keyhole slot at the reverse, for easy wall hanging. If you have any questions about the shields, feel free to mail john(at)data-wales.co.uk
